Week 12

iTunes University allows professor at university officials to upload videos and audios from class lectures to the iTunes. Students can download the videos and audio for free and then transfer them to their iPods. iTunes in the classroom can be used to help students improve the qualities of their work. It can make you care more deeply about the subject matter, and you can be eager to share their learning with a writer audience. Students believe they have found the solution for students in need of notes from missed classes.

I would use iTune as a study guide consisting of guestions to help students prepare for exams. Asked them to listen to question, pause, and try to answer them. They would be fundamental question to make sure they understand the basics, then during the test asked synthesis type of questions. Many schools have invested in iTines in the classroom. As the internet become more entwined with learning, we as teachers need to develop new techniques to manage computers and online use, and then use the new tools effectively. iTune delivers easy, 24/7 access to educational content from hundreds of top colleges, universities, and educationally focused orginzations across the country. iTunes is accessible to anyone with a Mac or PC.

Computers and internet are nothing new to the classroom. However, studies now show that kids learn differently today than they did one or two decades ago, because of exposure to digital media and information. iTunes come with both opportunities and challenges for teachers. Not only do they require thinking in new ways about how to teach the same facts and skills, but also being aware of the new distraction thar iTunes in the classroom can present. It is very important that iTunes be use for learnig purposes only. As a teacher I wouldn't allow my students unlimited time with iTune during class. If I had a computers inwhich students, rountinely use computers, I would make certain thar I keep an eye on what they are doing. Walking around the classroom to make sure the students are listening to, or working on nothing new. iTunes can be even more important with computers in use because of the potiential distraction.

Week 11

Duke University first experienced with iPods was in 2004. They issused over 1600 iPods to their first-year students. As part of the University initiative to encourage creative uses of technology in education and campus life. Duke University has at least 15 fall course with a total of 628 students, and estimating 33 spring courses with an enrollement of 600 students incorporating the iPod use. Duke University faculty uses iPod for Coarse content dissemination tool, Classroom rcording tool Field recording tool, and Study support tool. IPods can be convient for the faculty and the students. So many students today own personal computing device, like iPods that the increase in use of digital audioin coarse. Duke University has broadened their focus of the programs beyond iPod to a much droader effort to promote the effective use of new technology in higher education.

When I first think of iPod it's a nautral for music, iPods can be used in different ways, including moving large files so students can take them home. IPods can empower students to think on their own and come up with ways to incoroporate technology into their work. IPOds can also allow students to access lectures and coarse material and keep it on their iPods for later use. Before if you missed a lecture, you missed it and that was it. Now they can record all of the lectures and make them available, so you can listen to them anywhere. At Duke University the iPod is an exciting new component of Duke's strstegic plan, which seeks to use information technology in innovative ways within the classroom and across the campus. This is an experiment one can hope will motivate the fauclty and students to think creatively about using digital audio content.

Week 10

The internet is a valuable tool for students and teachers searching for information, ideals, graphics, sound recordings, videos, blogs, or interactives learning objectives. Teachers and students should familarize themselves with the variety of tools currently available. As an teacher I can take advantage of the internet by learning to create purposeful, and well designed web sites targeted at students, the parents of the students, other teachers and community members. I would teach technology in my classroom effectively to help my students take ownership of learning, and developing the practical and critical thinking skills necessary to better understand the world around them.

I would teach technology to transform my classroom from a teacher-centered environment to an exciting, empowering, exploratory environment that focus on student engagement in the learning process.I would use a digital media photography, by using digital cameras, camcorders, and podcasts, allowing the students to capture their own pictures. Podcasting in education will offer and be an exciting way for students to learn. Podcasts will consist of audio,or video delivered over the internet. I would use technology to enhance my students learning.

Week 9

Can all users be trusted to create resource information? For years many have always doubted the credibility of the web. For starters, how can you count on a source of information to be true on the internet? How can someone who is making a claim on a given topic prove their own credentials? Those two question have crosed m mind while navidating the web. The problem amplifies itself on the Wikipedia pages.

Wikipedia is one of the Internets most popular fact checking sites. But it is often manipulated by companies and individuals who are the subject of its entries. Virgil Griffithva graduate student of the California Institute of Technology, developed the Wikipedia Scanner. People such as the CIA, Vatican, Fox News, Undercover Agents, and Wal- Mart alters Wikipedia. All user cannot be trusted to create resource information. The problem came about when Wikipedia world became very public. anonymous users can sign on and create a new entry about any topic on wikipedia. In my opinion, I dont believe that Wikipedia can be trusted, I think that smoe day Mr. Griffith will come up with a plan to keep anonymous users from making cgahges to other peoples articles.

Week 7

In reading Karl Fischbowl's post, It is OK to be Technologically Illeterate.I can agree with the things he has to say about some teachers not knowing, and not willing to learn. I believe that all educators should achieve some kind of technological experience. That way they can be able to teach it, and encourage their students to learn about the different kind of technology in this modern world.I agree with the fact that, technoloy is in the world infact, technology is this world.

Technology have taking over, it is a big part of the everyday life. Teachers that doesn't know much about it should be ashame, and those that don't want to learn should be ashame as well. I can agree hat they shouldn't be teachinh in the the public, nor the private school's system. Yes the principals should be held accountable. Principals should make sure that each one of their are in some sort of tehnology learning program. I agree, that in order to teach something, we must first laern learn it ourselves.

Week 6

Internatioal schools blogging are pretty much the same as American schools. They use it pretty much for the samw things as the American schools. The schools in Shanghai, China uses the Wiki, where they can entend extend their learning that goes on in their classes, they can meet and chat with friends about related topic to their class. They also used it to find ways to connect the content they are studying. Shanghai schools also uses blogging to send parents annocement ,and news bulletins concerning their children progress and school activities.

Computers are widely used in Quebec schools for teaching and learning activities, as well as for doing reasearch and carrying ont tele-collaborative projects. Other current projects in Quebec are the Remote Networked Schools. Today, more than 50% of teachers are using the Internet and computers in their classrooms, and several more are using them for the administrative areas of teaching. Week 5

As I learned each time I review a sit on the internet, that blog is simply define on line as a journal. It is made up of reversed chronological entries infused with text, images or multimedia. Blogs embody a place where individuals expression and online community development coexist. Blog readers can post thoughts and feelings on a weg page for the world to view. Bloggers can link to other bloggers creating an interwoven, and perhaps independent.

Blogging can bring learning to life for K-12 educators and students. Blogging inspire students to create and publish rich digit content and collaborate with other people. Blogging in the classroom is a way for teachers to build digital communication skills in their coarsework, allowing then to prepare students with skills that are consider essential in the 21st century. Blogs are inherently different from personal web pages. Blos have been heralded as opportunities to promote literacy learning by allowing students to publish their own writing whether it's a journal or story, or even comments on class readings. Blogs allow educators and students to interact in the same common space and format.

First blog for Week #4

First of all, I was really impress with the presentation. I'm very amazed and impress with the My Space page, and how it has grown over the few years. I can definitely agree with the presentation that, if the My Space page was a country it would be the largest in the world. Everyday I always here about someone has created a My Space Page for themselves. That's one of the top conversation on my job, among the coworker although I don't have one yet. This generation today have a beter knowledge about the technology, and how fast it's growing. When I was in elementary school, we didn't have the access to computers like the students have today.

More and more people are surfing the web, more and more people are communicating through the internet, text messaging, and blogging. I have never heard about blogging until I enrolled in this class. The more technology a person learns, the more they will change jobs, because of their learning of the new technology they are learning. The students today have a better chance of getting a better job than the one's we have today, because of technology.

The presentation also stated that China will be the largest country to have English as their language. China has the largest numbers of college graduates. The overall presentation was an excellent one, I have learn alot from just watching and listening to it.

Access.doc

The Access allows students to take classes on line through video conferencing. The students will have an advantage to have advance placement. Access offers classses that might not be offered at their school. It connects students statewide, it builds on the state's existing real world education system, enhancing, enriching, and taking students to places they can never imagined.

It is a powerful new learning experience available to students. Teaching Access in the classroom can allow student to have access to computers, internet connection, software and textbooks required for specific cources. The Access program gives the student a sense of independent learning. When teaching this program each students can become an effective writer. International.doc

Blogging in the international schools, I've learned that many of their blogs are to the parents. They used this techonolgy to inform the parents about their school fees, and the different activities that they are having throught out the year. They also used blogging to inform the parents about the staffs member's of their school. Zhuhai International school used blogging to distribute newsletter each week, to every family in their school.

The schools in Singapore, used blogging as a way of communicating. They use it as a way to boost the school spirit, and participation by playing video clips of their sports activies. Blogging is used for promoting the schools clubs, and teams so that other students can find out what is going on in the school. The school blog can also provide links to other valuable educationals resources that can be used for their benefit. Most international schools used blogging to post recipes of their food.

K-12.doc

With blogging, it is eaiser for teachers to be involved on the writing process of their students. Teachers can view early version, and get an idea of how their students papers was built. In viewing the different sites on blogging, I have learned that teachers can communicate with their students. It is easier for teachers to be involved in the writing process. Blogging can connect teachers from every level.

A teacher can maintain their own feedback. Blobbing can faciliate a good working relationship with the students. Blogging can allow alot of direct communication with the teacher, without putting the onus on the students to schedule an appointment, or send in an e-mail. Blogging is a fantastic way for students to share, and collaborate their ideas.

Techonolgy can be used to enhance a classroom environoment. Technology can be used as a teaching and learning tool. While my experience stems from teahcing, alphabets at a preschool level. Technology in the classroom is a good setup, in which instructors can bring their own laptop to the classroom, and connect to the network. Techonolgy in the classroom can lead to a very exciting experiecne for the students.

Technology can be used in the elementary math instruction, for the kindergarten's through the sixth grade. Technology is being used in the classroom ,in inclusive classrooms. It is being used to improve students academic achievements, to ensure that every student is technologically liberate. Technology in the classroom is being used for many things, like demonstrating the writing process, modeling soft ware. It is being used for teaching powerpoint inspiration to organize their ideas. Technology has become a way of life in todays society.

Alex.doc

In searching the web on the Alabama Learning Exchange(Alex), I observed alot of exciting things. The first thing I noticed, was the corses of study. I found as I was browsing I through the Alabama content standards. It consisted of the different type of courses thst can be taught, such as the Mathematics, the Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. There were many other courses to used.

In my finding with the Language Arts course of study, it consisted of kindergarten through the twelevth grade learning materials. The Mathematics materials starts with the kindergarten through the eighth grade. The Social Studies materials, it begins with the kindergartrn through the twelevth grade also. The Science material, it beain with the kindergarten through the eighth grade. These courses can be used in many ways, I would used them to help enhance the learning with the students in my classroom. The social studies I can teach my students how to deals with citizenship, the United States Government and economics.

I can used the mathematics skills to help the students identify the different types of coinsdealing with money. I can also used the math skills, to recognize whole objects that can be divided into parts. Mathematics can also be used my class, by teaching them to used vocabulary words associated with their measurements. I would used mathematics as a way of, identifying objects according to the weight and height.

First post

My name is Mary Todd I am a junior at USA, my major is Special ED. K-6. I am a preschool teacher for Mobile Community Action. I report back to work on the 25th of august, 2008. Ask me if I'm ready to go back, the answer is no I'm not. I attended Bishop State from 2003-2006 and I earned an A.S degree in General ED.

I attended Williamson High School from 1980-1985 , there I was a freshman cheerleader, and I became a flag girl in my sophomore year, and remained on the flag line until the beginning of my senior year. At the beginning of my senior I became pregnant with my first child, and had to withdraw from school at that time. I gave birth to a 7lbs. 4ozs baby boy, I named him Antonio.

I am the mother of three, my oldest child is Antonio he is 26 years old. My daughter is name Amber she is 18, and my youngest son is name Gabriel is 12, and by the way I am 43. My hobbies are walking, swing dancing, and line dancing. My goal is to become a special ed. teacher, I love working with children. When I am not working I spend a lot of my time reading, dancing, walking, and just sitting around chatting with my family and friends. My best friend name is Sharon, we have been friends for 25 years.

My hopes and dreams is to some day meet the man of my dreams, the type of man I'm looking for has to love God first, because if he does then I know he will love me also. He has to be a family man, one that doesn't mind spending time with me and his family. One that will respect me as I will do to him, respect the things I like doing. One who doesn't mind traveling, and trying other things, veutureout and visit places other than Mobile Alabama. He must like sports, he doesn't have to play them just like them or just love the game.
